This is a "walk through" of setting up new domains in your WebHost Manager server management software.

IMPORTANT - Your main domain that you opened your Ascent Hosting Private Label account with, is already setup. Those details are in your welcome email. You do not need to create that domain. You just create your other domains with the information below.

(1). Access your WHM via the IP address in your welcome email - http://IPADDRESS/whm

(2). You'll need to first Create a Package, for your domain.

(3). Now once you have created that Package, click on the "Create a New Account" -

Make sure that you choose a package from the "Package" drop down list. This is the same Package that you just setup above. Then complete the following form -

* Make sure that there are NO spaces before or after your domain name.

* Also always enter your domain name as yourdomain.com and NEVER like www.yourdomain.com or http://www.yourdomain.com

* Never tick the IP box or choose an IP from the IP drop down menu. If you need a dedicated IP for a domain, read this first.

* Choose the Cpanel Theme drop down menu.

* Make sure you fill out all the fields and don't leave a field as "unlimited".

* When you have all the fields completed, click the "Create" button and your account will be created.

The following information will appear if all was done correctly -

The following is a brief rundown of your new account

New Account Info

Domain: yourdomain.com

Ip: SERVER-IP
| HasCgi: y

UserName: yourusername

PassWord: password-here

CpanelMod: bluelagoon

Quota: x Meg

Data Transfer: 500Mb/mth

Your Control Panel -

Access your Control Panel for yourdomain.com at http://SERVER-IP/cpanel with the above Username and Password.

Usernames and Passwords *are* case sensitive.

Email setup -

Incoming Mail Server [POP3] - mail.yourdomain.com

Outgoing Mail Server [SMTP] - mail.yourdomain.com

Please note that certain aspects of setting up your email will be dependent upon your domain name being fully propagated over to our Name Servers. The process of propagation can take up to 3 days for your domain to be pointed to the Ascent Hosting servers.

Upload your site details -

Upload to the IP address of SERVER-IP using your above Username and Password to the public_html area. If you are using any FTP programs to upload your site, just make sure to upload to the IP address *only* and not with the http:// in front of the IP address. This applies to Dreamweaver too.

If you are uploading using FrontPage, wait until your domain has propagated to the server and upload to yourdomain.com

You can access your site while your domain name resolves over to our HTTPme.com servers by accessing http://SERVER-IP/~yourusername

After your domain name has resolved [this can take up to 48hrs], your site will be accessible at http://www.yourdomain.com.

When one of your accounts exceeds (goes over) the bandwidth (transfer) limit:

1. The site and all files on it will become inaccessable through a browser.

2. New mail sent to the account will still get through provided the account has enough space for it.

3. FTP will still be accessable.

To get the site working again:

(1). Log into WHM. Click the "Limit Bandwidth Usage" link. Select the domain or account username for the account that is over its bandwidth limit. Click the "Limit" button. Raise their bandwidth limit and click "Change".

If your main WHM domain was the domain that has gone beyond its data transfer limit, then you won't be able to access the WHM using the path domain.com/whm. You will then you will need to log into your WHM using the server's main IP, and that domain's username and password - http://Server_IP/whm .

When one of your accounts exceeds (goes over) the amount of space you gave it the following happens:

1. All pages and files will still be accessable via the web/ftp/email.
2. Any new mail sent to the account will be bounced due to the user being over their set quota.
3. New files will not be able to be uploaded to the space.

To allow e-mail and uploading again:

a. Delete some of the files in that account.
b. Log into WHM. Click the Quota Modification link. Raise the quota for the account experiencing the problem.
